Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in the late Victorian and Edwardian eras, these cabinets combine mirrored glass panels with decorative majolica ceramic tiles. They were produced as decorative display furniture designed to showcase ceramics, collectibles, and reflect light within dining or living spaces.

These cabinets were constructed from softwoods or hardwoods such as pine or mahogany, finished with hand-painted oil finishes and gilded accents. Decorative inserts consist of lead-glazed majolica ceramic tiles alongside silvered glass mirrors and brass hardware.

Authentic turn-of-the-century pieces feature hand-moulded majolica tiles with characteristic tin-glazed relief decoration and age-appropriate glaze crazing. The woodwork demonstrates traditional joinery such as dovetail joints and consistent surface wear to the paintwork.

A painted cabinet with ceramic panels functions as an accent piece in a hallway, dining room, or conservatory setting. Positioning against neutral backdrop walls alongside contemporary accessories highlights the ceramic artwork and gilded mouldings.

Dust the painted wooden surfaces regularly using a dry microfibre cloth, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners or excess liquid. Clean the majolica tiles and glass mirror gently with a damp cloth, ensuring water does not seep into the surrounding timber joints.
