Antique Silver Pot Pourri Box With Floral Designs Hallmarked London 1908 By William Comyns & Sons

A highly decorative and very pretty circular Edwardian solid silver pot pourri box. The pierced lid is decorated with a single cherub and leafy fronds branching out from a smooth central circle. The lid pulls off neatly. The body of the pot is decorated with a band of pretty swirls . Clear hallmarks are visible to the inside lip of the pot and also on the lid itself, for the London Assay office with a date mark for 1908 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The silver maker''s mark is also clearly visible for William Comyns & Sons
 
 
 
A beautiful item that would look lovely on a dressing table filled with sweet pot pourri, or as a trinket box.
