Antique Victorian Mahogany Writing Table

Description

A very fine quality antique Victorian writing desk in mahogany. This was made in England, it dates from the 1880-1890 period.

It is very well made and is a useful size, with a polished back so it can be used as a free standing item. It sits on finely turned legs with brass casters, the drawers have brass handles & it looks like the drawer bottoms have been replaced more recently. There is a beautiful hand coloured and gold tooled leather writing surface.

This is in great condition for its age, we have just had it re-polished. There are some small marks and indentations beneath the polish here and there, commensurate for age.

Depth – 26 inches , 66 cm

Height – 29 inches , 74 cm

Knee height – 23 inches , 58 cm
