Stunning English Victorian Sterling Silver Heart Shaped Box - 1895

Description

A delightful antique English pill or trinket box in the shape of a small heart, always highly sought-after and one of our most popular selling items when we can get hold of them.

The dome top of the lid is particularly attractive in the case as the vacant cartouche is also in the shape of a heart, which of course could be engraved by your silversmith if desired.

The hinged lid fits well and once opened reveals a good gilded interior.

There is a clear hallmark for Birmingham 1895 together the makers mark, JW into two circles for the silversmith, J. Wilmot.

Excellent condition, measuring 1 5/8" x 1 3/4" x 1" tall.
