Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The campana form is modeled after ancient Greco-Roman bell-shaped urns, gaining widespread popularity in Britain during the Regency period. These wine coolers feature a bell-shaped body, flared rim, twin ornate handles, and a pedestal base, reflecting classical Revival aesthetics.

Old Sheffield Plate was created by fusing a thick sheet of sterling silver onto an ingot of copper using high temperature, before rolling it into sheets. This process produced heavy metalwork with a silver surface that shared the visual characteristics of solid silver at a lower production cost.

Authentic pieces often exhibit minor areas where the silver layer has rubbed away over centuries, revealing the warm copper beneath, a effect known as bleeding. They also typically feature struck die marks rather than modern electroplating hallmarks and may show seam lines or mounted silver wire borders.

These decorative vessels serve effectively as dramatic table centrepieces or console displays, either in their functional capacity for hosting or adapted as elegant floral urns to contrast polished metal with organic foliage.

Clean gently using a soft cloth and a specialized non-abrasive silver polish formulated for plated metalwork. Avoid harsh chemicals, wire sponges, or prolonged contact with acidic liquids, and dry thoroughly after cleaning to prevent oxidisation.
