The circular centre bowl sweeping to a raised recessed foot rim.
The large reserves set amongst smaller reserves filled with butterflies, beetles and other insects. the reserves against a 'fish scale' blue ground, whilst the foot rim is decorated with gilt scrolling foliage. The interior of the bowl with exotic birds in a woodland garden, set around sprigs of wild flowers, around which butterflies and beetles fly.
Date circa 1850.
