“Julien Caussé” (1863-1929): A charming, signed Art Nouveau 2-colour bronze bust of a pretty young lady, adorned with flowers in her hair. Her hair is swept up on top of her head, with flowers (Poppies/Convolvulus and oak leaf sprigs) holding her coiled hair together. The flowers and leaves are highlighted in a second colour bronze. Signed to the base verso: J. Caussé.

About the Sculptor: Jules (Julien) Caussé was born in Bourges, France in 1869. The son of the sculptor Auguste Caussé and active from 1890 until his death (c.1929). His pieces were exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Francais 1888 to 1912, obtaining honourable mentions in 1882 and 1900 and a medal in 1893.
