A superb and rare George III Cartel Wall Clock timepiece, by Edward Clarke of Cornhill, London with a verge movement. The silvered dial features Roman and Arabic numbering with inscribed signature and visible pendulum above the black ‘spade’ hands.
The gilded case is in good original condition features Greek God-like heads to the top and bottom, with scrolling leaves in between. Edward Clarke is recorded as working from 56 Cornhill, London between 1768-1775
