Victorian Marquetry Walnut Art Nouveau Writing Slope

Description

An unusual writing slope in walnut which dates to around the 1890’s

in original condition, it has been sympathetically cleaned and waxed to a medium brown finish

Has an attractive design in marquetry on its’ top with a real Art Nouveau look about it, with organic plants and leaves

The divider to the left of the pen tray can be raised to release a panel behind which are a pair of secret drawers

It has a replaced leather skiver in antique maroon with gold tooling and a pair of glass inkwells with brass screw tops

It also has a working lock and key

Measures 16 inches wide, 10 inches deep and 7 inches high
