The 2nd door having further marquetry inlay including a Chinese character with sheep, dog, geese, eagle and foliage border. The insides of the doors having fine quality floral marquetry inlay with brass hinges and working lock with key. The stunning marquetry breakfronted interior in the form of a palace entrance having an arched and tiled roof leading to a pair of shaped doors flanked by supporting pillars with 4 graduated drawers disguised as steps leading up to the entrance. To both sides are further marquetry inlaid pillars and 4 small cupboard doors with Chinese scenes. Below the roof tiles is a drop down cupboard above the breakfront frieze which conceals a secret drawer accessed by an interior spring. The base section having a conforming gilded leaf frieze joined by 6 marquetry inlaid and gilded square tapering legs with shaped stretchers.
