Description

Splendid French Louis Philippe settee c.1840. Mahogany frame with a straight top rail and long curving arms with scrolling terminals and shaped supports. Padded backrest and a sprung seat upholstered in a warm gold coloured velvet with brass studs. Flame mahogany veneered apron and raised on four shaped legs across the front, the outer ones with carved detail. Serviceable covers with some obvious marks (the seat is easily removed for reupholstery). Otherwise excellent colour and condition, solid and sturdy, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
