Webberley Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
Each cabriole legs carved with acanthus and with small scrolls to the hocks and terminating in large ball and claw feet.

This stool has considerable age and there are hand held tool marks on the inner frame, it could be 18th century but in my view it is not so it is sold here as an early 19th century stool of George II design.

The stool with a lovely rich colour, very heavy and robust without any movement in the joints. It has been newly upholstered in a heavyweight dark blue cut velvet on a silver ground of excellent quality.
Very beautiful and entirely convincing as an earlier stool.
