This is an antique gentleman's reading table. An English, mahogany adjustable cantilever writing desk, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1870.

Exceptional versatility to this attractive, well-crafted table

Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order

Select stocks present a superior grain interest throughout

Rich caramel hues beam beneath a quality wax polish finish

Sectional table top with one half hosting an adjustable reading stand

Stand adjusts for angle through 14 positions, documents held in place with a shallow rest

Upper section rises by 15cm (6'') upon a stout column with inset position tubes

Once situated, the top secured in place by a long metal pin with twist handle

Useful drawer to the right, with sectional compartment tray — inset lock, key absent
