Lovely Japanese Meiji (early 20thC) small lacquer box with fine gold (maki-e) and silver flowers (e.g. peonies and daisies), grasses and leaf decoration on a black ground. The box has a silver rim and the lacquer work is clearly by a master craftsman. Measures 13.5 x 10.5 x 5cm.
Excellent original condition.
