Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Ecclesiastical style furniture from the Edwardian era draws heavily on Gothic Revival architecture, featuring carved religious iconography such as quatrefoils and sacred monograms. These pieces combine formal, architectural symmetry with solid oak craftsmanship designed for ceremonial or hall use.

Carver armchairs were predominantly constructed from durable hardwoods such as oak, mahogany, or walnut, using traditional joinery techniques like mortise and tenon joints. Seats were either kept as solid timber panels or upholstered in leather or wool textiles.

Authentic Edwardian oak chairs typically exhibit sharp, hand-finished carving alongside precise machine work common to the early 20th century. Look for age-appropriate wear around stretchers and armrests, natural oxidisation of the oak timber, and period brass presentation plaques.

A Gothic Revival armchair works well as a sculptural accent piece in modern hallways, foyers, or study corners. Positioning it against neutral, contemporary backdrops allows the rich timber tone and architectural profile to stand out without overwhelming the space.

Antique oak furniture should be dusted regularly with a soft dry cloth and treated with beeswax polish once or twice a year to maintain the timber finish. Keep pieces away from direct heat sources and high humidity to prevent timber shrinkage or cracking.
