Description

A French 19thC oval fine brass photo frame c1880 in excellent condition. The outer frame is made of copper coloured brass - a process called dezincification where some of the zinc is extracted - and is decorated with a finely modelled banded ribbon design with inner beading. The inner frame is made of fine yellow brass with an inner reeding line. The solid brass easel back is kept in place with a screw. The easel and ring enable the frame to be wall hung or standing. The frame is lined with green fabric. This frame is a perfect size for a portrait or celebration photo, and is outstanding in quality.

The image space measures 23cm x 15.5cm at midpoint.
