Late 18th / Early 19th Century Pine Carved Female Figure In Cloak

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Whites Antiques

This late 18th/early 19th Century antique pine carved figure depicting an elegant woman in robe and cloak with regal corset/chest plate would originally have been polychrome but has been stripped back to show a fabulous patina with remnants of under paint showing through. The passage of time and wear has resulted in the loss of both arms and the toes on the left foot have worn away but this really does not detract from her beauty
