Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian Rococo Revival stools from the mid-to-late nineteenth century typically feature sweeping cabriole legs, elaborate scroll carving, and shaped aprons inspired by eighteenth-century French design. They were usually crafted from walnut, rosewood, or mahogany and topped with padded, decorative upholstery.

These stools were built using solid walnut frames, which allowed cabinetmakers to carve intricate details onto the aprons and legs. Internal seat framing often utilised pine or beech, while traditional upholstery consisted of horsehair padding, steel coil springs, and decorative textile coverings finished with gimp trim or brass studding.

Authentic nineteenth-century pieces display natural patination on the timber frame, hand-carved joinery details, and evidence of historical woodworking techniques on the underside. Original frames often show subtle irregularities from hand-saws and chiseled motifs that distinguish them from modern reproductions.

A Victorian walnut stool functions effectively as a footrest beside a modern armchair, a low seat near a fireplace, or a vanity stool in a bedroom setting. Reupholstering the piece in a modern neutral fabric bridges the gap between historical woodwork and contemporary design schemes.

To preserve the walnut frame, apply a natural beeswax polish twice a year to feed the wood and retain the patination, keeping it away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent cracking or fading. For the textile seat, vacuum gently using a brush attachment and treat stains immediately with specialized fabric cleaners.
