Rare Art Deco Silver Guilloche Enamel Scent Bottle Case, Circa 1930

1920 - 1940
Description

This is a delightful and very unusual continental silver and guilloche enamel scent bottle etui. The delicate powder blue enamel cylindrical body with silver borders, base and thread. The good quality screw-top lid opening to reveal the original clear glass scent bottle. The base struck with the importers marks (Carrington and Co) and the silver purity (925). A rare and very collectable enamel scent bottle.

Hallmarks:

Continental marks 925 for silver fineness.

Importers' marks; C&Co for Carrington & Co.

Two other unidentified silver marks.

Condition:

Good

Enamel in very good conditIon.

Very minor discolouration on a minute section of the bottom edge of the lid where it meets the body, barely noticeable , mentioned for accuracy.

Very good thread, easy to open and close.

Glass scent bottle in very good condition.

Dimensions:

Height: 5.5cm / 2.2 inches.

Diameter: 1.5cm / 0.4 inches.
