Description

A pretty English silver trinket or snuff box with hinged cover with decorative gadrooned border. The cover is decorated with a guilloche enamel ground in a brilliant turquoise and over-painted with a naturalistic sprig of pale pink roses. Gilded inside. Hallmarked to the base for Birmingham 1901, makers Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings (Frank) Shepherd; the cover with partial marks to the front.

It measures 5.5cm (2 1/8") wide by 4.5cm (1 3/4") deep and 2.5cm (1") high and weighs 60g / 1.9ozt.

In very good condition: a small knock to the back left corner and one other small scuff. No other issues, damage or repair. The enamel is perfect and the hinge is firm.
