A very nice example of a mid 18thc brass ''shaker''....also known as a ''dredger''....this one is out of the manor / farmhouse kitchen and would have been one of many sizes used for shaking flour and condiments over cakes, bread and biscuits....it has ''double'' line decoration and the seam joint is clearly visible....always good to see....it is in excellent condition considering its domestic use...
