Fine 18th Century Old Sheffield Plated Quart Lidded Tankard

Description

A fine lidded quart tankard made of Old Sheffield Plate. Bearing no makers mark, but dating to c1780-1800 and with a beautiful visible seam. With a turned wooden base and a false bottom.

The condition is very good overall with no dents or splits. There is very slight copper bleed to the raised edges and a small old repair to the thumb piece, but it is still very firm. The interior is reasonably clean with little sign of wear.

Weight approx 695g.

Span approx 17cm.
