Gatsby Jewellery Ltd has dated this piece to the 1910s.
The stone is secured in an absolute masterpiece of a setting, with eight pear cut sapphires and eight rose cut diamonds in the finely pierced and milgrained gallery. A further four rose cut diamonds (two each side) are set at the top of a shank which features striking vented shoulders.

Accompanied by a report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Round cut sapphire in the centre with pear cut sapphires and rose cut diamonds in the gallery.

Colour – The diamonds are G to H.
Clarity – The central sapphire is loupe clean. (There is a natural divot to the back of the sapphire which presents as an inclusion.) The diamonds are SI1 to SI2.
Carat – The central sapphire is 2.56 carat. A further approximate 0.32 carat of sapphires in the gallery and approximately 0.12 carat of diamonds.
Circa – 1910.
Size – Q (UK) or 8 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Measurements – The sapphire is 9.03 x 9.33mm. Sits 6.2mm from the finger.
Metal – Platinum. Tested.
