The soft crimson field is filled with small flowering shrubs, their larger brothers in a single row in the main border, in colours of green and cream. At first glance a simple carpet but the longer you look the more you see a pleasing complexity; in the many subtle abrashes, in the plain outer stripe and the way the shrubs seem to sway around the field... In great original condition, showing light to medium wear but a strong and sturdy carpet that could go another 120 years.
