A superb quality Victorian John Grinsell & Henry Bourne silver plated on copper domed and hinged lidded beer jug with a crested cast Bacchus spout, cast scroll floral handle and Putti finial. The electrotype body is heavily decorated with scenes of rams and Putti playing musical instruments. In very good condition, plate obviously worn in areas allowing the gorgeous warm glow of the copper to shine through (Circa 1880).Marked to the base G&B for John Grinsell and Henry Bourne, probably two of the best in terms of producing quality Electroplated items.We also have a fabulous Biscuit Barrel/Ice Barrel with the same design by the same makers in another listing, look out for it.
