Set of Six Rush Seat Cottage Dining Chairs C.1880

Description

Set of six small late 19th.c. ash framed cottage dining chairs c.1880. Low backs with a row of four lovely turned spindles between slightly curving stretchers and turned and block rear stiles. Over woven rush seats (seat height 18") raised on tapering front legs joined with a decorative turned front stretcher. Plus simple stretchers to the sides and rear to make a very sturdy little chair. Repairs to the bottom of the legs, otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
