A fine early Victorian silver child’s or Christening mug, the body decorated in the Elizabethan manner with bosses, interlocking motifs and masks on a matted background, all on a raised circular foot. Tiny attractive contemporary cursive script monogram to the central boss ‘BCEH’. Original silver-gilt interior. Beaded Acanthus capped thumb piece atop ‘S and C scroll’ handle. Presented in its original Goldsmiths and Silversmiths of Regent Street London silk and velvet lined case. Best Christening mug I have had the privilege to offer for sale. Lovely weight, quality and condition by fine makers.
Condition: Wonderful thing ready to be used. The case catch in good order. The case with scuffs to one side of the handle.
