Stunning English Victorian Boulle Jewelry Box C.1860

Description

A quite stunning Victorian Boulle inlaid jewellery box, highly decorative and a very usable box. The box is has a boulle top unusually incorporating some Mother of Pearl as well as the polished brass set into the tortoise shell.

The fittings are all original with a top quality stop-hinge and a working lock complete with a taselled key. The front has a large lavish boulle inlaid panel surrounding the escutcheon.

The interior too is all original with a pink silk tafeta lining.

Excellent condition measuring 10 3/4" x 8" x 4 3/4" tall.
