A lovely Art Nouveau coal Purdonium, ideal for open fires .
This purdonium is an ideal accomplice to any open fire, log burner or period property.

This simple yet elegant purdonium features a lovely medium Oak colour and French polished finish with patina. This cabinet comes complete with the original metal lift out coal carry liner (which is unusually in almost perfect condition with no rot) and the original brass shovel with turned handle making it ideal for neat mess-free storage of coal or kindling. The box includes its lovely original shovel holster to the rear.

This lovely looking box also features a polished turned brass top handle with a beehive collar and honey dipper style ends complete with a matching lid knob and back plate with a polished brass lid hinge. We especially love the cabinets ornate turned rosetta to the lid which is embellished with some scratch carvings.

We have sympathetically restored this item maintaining original patina and character by just carefully waxing this item to enhance and preserve the finish whilst giving it a natural sheen and polishing the brassware.

Please note this item is in very good condition for its age but will have the odd blemish here and there, as expected with an item of this age. However, we feel that these points are which adds to the charm of the item with it being an antique.
