Webberley Antiques has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
The whole with thickly cut and vividly grained walnut veneers and with a well shaped apron and shaped side panels – all higher quality details. The walnut to the top is quarter matched with oysters at the centre of each panel and a deep featherbanded border. The outer edge set with a lovely cushioned and curved walnut border.
In fine original condition, solid and sturdy, heavy for size, and with a very good colour and natural patination – unfortunately our photographs do not do the piece full justice and the lowboy is guaranteed to exceed expectations.
A beautifully made and finely shaped little lowboy of great charm.
