Early Victorian Revolving Height Adjustable Stool.

A charming piano stool or dressing table stool.

We bring to you this fine example of an Antique Victorian Mahogany revolving piano stool on a wooden height adjustable screw mechanism believed to be made around C1840. This fine revolving stool is in fantastic original condition and has been sympathetically restored, rebuilt and re-upholstered making it perfect for any piano or even as a dressing stool.

This good-looking stool has its original polish throughout complete with its lovely lightly faded original colour showing patina and character which we have just enhanced with a revive and wax.

Unusually this piano stool has a sprung seat which is very comfortable to sit on for long periods of time. The pad is raised on a large 50mm diameter finely cut wooden screw thread which turns effortlessly to infinitely adjust the stools height. The seat-pad has been re-upholstered, having all of the springs repositioned with new padding, all finished with a brand new full grain aniline leather in grey with a brass studded edge to complement.

Underneath the seat-pad is a lovely highly polished brass decorative collar which descends into the substantial finely turned pillar which goes to 3 substantial sabre legs which finish to a ball end with turned discs either side, raised on bun feet. This stool is superb quality having expertly crafted sliding dovetail jointed legs with no damage, repairs or joint movement. Having had a sympathetic restoration, this stool is in outstanding condition with no play in the screw thread and is as good as the day it was made and ready for many more years service.

This chair is in amazing condition for its age as shown by the photographs however being an antique item of this age there are blemishes and scuffs here and there which we feel adds to its originality and heritage.
