A remarkable Art Deco cold painted bronze sculpture . featuring two imposing black panthers, gracefully positioned on a beautifully designed , figured Porto Marble base. The sculpture was created by the esteemed French sculptor, Jean-Baptiste Hugues, who was active in Paris during the 1920s.
Two sleek black panthers, caught mid-prowl, the angular , geometrically designed Porto marble base & sharp lines used in the design of panthers facial features , strongly reflect the cubist design movement of the Art Deco period.
This sculpture is in superb, vintage condition, with only minimal signs of age-related wear.
