Description

These rare weavings have been in my personal collection for a long time. I acquired three over the years, have decided to keep one and part with two. Woven with natural-dyed wool and having a lid, these lovely artefacts were made by Qashqa'i nomads in Fars province, south-west Persia during the early 20th century as baskets for containing eggs. Very few of these baskets can now be found in Iran.
