Stunning and rare example of a 17th Century carved and silvered Bunched Leaf Frame, dated from 1670.

Frame retains its original silver leaf water-gilding in stunning antique condition.

Frame houses a wonderful mercury silvered mirror plate with generous overall foxing, very atmospheric.

Being so early in date the frame is joined using wooden pegs, which are visible when looking at the back of the frame.

All decoration is from carved wood and is very well executed, the leaves and flowers being heavily undercut to give a wonderful three dimensional effect.
