Description

A wonderful large piece of period tortoise shell was used to adorn this Victorian box, with stunning markings and a tapestry of colours from golden champagne to rich chocolate brown all enhanced with a bright glossy patina.

The interior retains it's original blue velvet lining. The front is inlaid with an Ivory escutcheon which houses the working key. Excellent condition, measuring 9 1/2" x 4" x 2 3/4" to top of domed lid, excluding four bun feet.
