The interior is just beautiful with various drawers including three "secret" drawers, one large central drawer in the form of some kind of building with "steps" leading up to the door. Either side of this are two faux books which are thin narrow drawers with tooled leather spines. When my restorer was cleaning up the box, they dated to around 1740 and when cleaning up these leather spines, the gold embossing appeared S Hage 1758, we think that this perhaps the maker of this piece and the date in which it was made.
An exquisite and rare period piece in excellent condition. 18" wide x 13" deep x 11 1/2" tall.
