Thomas Jeckyll (1827-1881) A Cast Brass Fire Grate, Manufactured By Barnard, Bishop And Barnards, Late 1870s

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Jeckyll & Co

A classic model, and rarer executed in brass. Lesser grates in a broadly similar style are frequently attributed to Thomas Jeckyll, but there really is no comparison (both E.W Godwin and Christopher Dresser advocated their use).

Condition: Brass being softer than the cast iron equivalent, the sides are slightly mis-shapen and there are one or two minor and isolated dents to the edges.

Aperture- 63.5cm high x 46.5cm wide
