Description

Interesting late 19th century Egyptian marble/stone sarcophugus,c1880. Most likely a grand tour piece it is well carved from a solid piece of stone and heavy for its size at 2.1kg. It is profusely decorated on both sides with hieroglyphics, symbols, depictions of ancient Egyptian Gods etc. This is a highly decorative piece that would grace any collection. The stone has taken on great colour/patina following many years of handling.
