Pretty Victorian Ribbon & Garland Engraved Basket in Silver Plate C.1890

Description

A really exquisite silverplated basket, highly decorative in every way with a stunning shape on a footed base and a swing handle. The basket is beautifully engraved with a delightful ribbon and bow garland joined with a musical vignette and below a floral garland, pretty as a picture.

There is a good clear hallmark on the underside of the basket for the silversmith Thomas Latham & Ernest Morton.

Very usable for almost anything; fruit, bread, biscuits, chocolates etc. Excellent condition, measuring 11" x 9 1/4" x 10" to top of handle.
