We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A housekeepers cupboard is a substantial item of storage furniture originating in the 18th and early 19th centuries, designed for country house service areas to store household linens, dry goods, and tableware.

Georgian cupboards were predominantly constructed using solid timbers such as mahogany, oak, or pine, frequently featuring flame mahogany veneers, hand-cut dovetail joints, and panelled door fronts.

Authentic Georgian cupboards exhibit hand-planed rear boards, hand-cut joinery, original brass escutcheons or latches, and distinctive flame mahogany veneer patterns with natural timber oxidation.

Position the cupboard as a focal storage piece in a dining room, hallway, or kitchen, contrasting its dark wood finish with light wall colours and contemporary architectural features.

Dust the surfaces regularly with a soft cloth, apply beeswax polish sparingly once or twice per year, and position the furniture away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent drying or fading.
