Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

George IV period furniture (18201830) transitions between late Regency classical restraint and early Victorian revivalism, characterised by bold proportions, rich timber veneers, and intricate carvings such as mask motifs and carved feet.

Pollard oak is harvested from oak trees that have been regularly pruned, producing dense, highly figured grain patterns with distinctive burrs and swirls. In fine cabinetmaking, these cuts are sliced into thin veneers to create decorative patterns on table tops.

Authentic Irish pieces from the early 19th century frequently feature deep, expressive relief carving, stylized mask or botanical motifs on the aprons, prominent carved paw or scroll feet, and solid construction utilizing dark native timbers or richly figured oak veneers.

A carved tripod occasional table serves as a functional accent piece positioned beside an armchair, in a foyer corner, or within a window bay to showcase the intricate grain and carved rim detail.

Maintain the surface by dusting regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and applying a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year, avoiding direct heat sources and sunlight that cause veneer lifting or colour fading.
