Here is an intricately carved wooden architectural corbel from the Indian Subcontinent, dating to the 19th century or possibly earlier.
Carved in Teak and extremely heavy, it''s a great decorative item and would look striking in any home. There is a hanging hole now fashioned on the back so that it can be hung, but it would work just as well as a bookend, or a stand to display candles etc.
The corbel is a riot of floral decoration and tendrils, amongst borders of petals and carved studs.
I have another similar corbel listed, so if you were to want to purchase the pair, I would offer a discount for the two.
Please don''t hesitate to get in touch if I can provide any further information.
I offer free delivery to mainland UK and am happy top help with quotes for shipping abroad.
