Antique Treen Apple Corer & Rattle

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Opus Antiques

This is a really unusual antique treen apple corer or cheese scoop carved from one piece of wood. The handle has been carved into two ball shapes which have been hollowed out with loose balls inside which act like a rattle.

There are two hexagonal carved discs separating the balls. On the top of the handle is a chip carved circular finial.

A really nice early 1800s piece of treen with some unusual features.
