Description

Large and impressive Chinese cast iron and polychrome bust of Guanyin,c1880. Guanyin is the Chinese Buddhist goddess of mercy, love, compassion and this statue has captured the serenity and peace she should exude. The bust is well cast and decorated with fine detail to the features, headdress etc . The bust stands proudly on a bespoke metal stand ,both of which are incredibly heavy at nearly 14kg. The bust has been beautifully painted to further highlight the fine detail . This is a highly decorative antique which would display well in a modern or traditional setting.
