Vintage French Demi-corbeille Double Bed with Tapestry Upholstery

1920 - 1940
Description

A Vintage French demi-corbeille double bed, the chanel moulded frame in original cream paint with gilt highlights, the head and footboard with foliate cresting and the curved footboard split into three sections. With original tapestry upholstery and nailed borders.

Takes a standard UK 4'6" double mattress. Mattress base not included but these are easily obtainable or wooden slats can also be used.

In good, sturdy, condition with original bolts. The tapestry is in pretty good order, apart from some wear to the edges of the footboard, and has been steam cleaned, the plain fabric on the inside of the footboard does have a water mark which is not really noticeable until the bed is stripped.

I can arrange re-covering with my upholsterer if preferred and supply fabric - please contact me for details.
