Description

An Early 19th Century Yew Wood High Backed Windsor Arm Chair.

The chair with a hoop back enclosing tapered spindles, flanking a shaped and pierced back splat, repeated to the lower back, flanked by ringed and turned supports. The broad arms sweeping to rounded hand holds, over an elm saddled seat, supported by the four slightly splayed legs, with a generous turned and shaped profile, the legs tapering to the toes, and joined by double stretchers with tapered shaping.

Date circa 1820.
