Antique Country Furniture 19thc Yew & Elm Hoop Back Windsor Armchair. English C1800-20.

Sold by: Mark Seabrook Antiques

An excellent example of an early 19thc Windsor armchair, known as a ''high hoop back''...it is made from yew , elm and fruitwood and has gained a lovely colour with a fine patina....the crook shaped under-arm supports dates its age to pre C1840 and the style of hoop back with the wheel splat motif attributes this chair to Buckinghamshire.

English. C1800-20.
