Set of 4 Antique Victorian Mahogany Dining Chairs.

A very unusual set of 4 Victorian Mahogany chairs.

We bring to you this very rare, unusual original set of 4 Mahogany dining chairs in superb original condition made around C1840. This set of chairs features a spectacularly shaped moulded and carved crown back with scroll carvings either side and a highly carved centre middle rail which depicts a floral scene. The chairs have drop in upholstered seat pads which are raised on its regency style curved top side rails to a moulded under seat rail which stands on its turned, fluted and drape carved forelegs.

These chairs have been lightly restored and feature their original French polished finish with a rich colour and have been carefully cleaned and waxed. These chairs have been looked after and cared for as it is very rare to find a set of 4 Victorian chairs in such good condition. Over time many of these sets get split into smaller sets.

These chairs are of the highest quality and are made from all solid heavy Mahogany with a strong design, construction and are completely original with no loose joints or wobbles.

The one chair does have some evidence of historic woodworm, however, is not structural and we have treated to make sure there is no return.

The seat pads have been recently reupholstered but the material is used so is not absolutely perfect but they have no notable marks or wear. These chairs are in a plain light blush peach velour material, the inner traditional padding is in good order and they are very comfortable seating.

Please note: We can reupholster these chairs in a material of your choice if this material is not to your taste (for obvious added costs) if you enquire.

The table pictured matches perfectly however is not included in this sale, but is available separately.
