Mid-century Silver Skewer Letter Opener by Francis Howard Ltd, Sheffield 1964

Description

This smart Novelty solid silver letter opener is dated Sheffield 1964 . In the form of a Georgian skewer, it is simple and elegant, has beautifully struck hallmarks and a very good silver gauge, it feels satisfyingly heavy when picked up. The tapered silver blade with flat ring handle. It is a good example and combines elegance with practicality.

FH for Francis Howard Ltd

Sheffield Assay Mark.

Date letter "W" for 1964.

Lion Passant.

Dimensions:

Length: 21.5cm / 8.4 inches.

Weight: 52g / 1.3 oz.

Condition:

Silver in very good condition.

Minor surface scratches, commensurate with age.
