Antique London Longcase Clock

18th century
Description

A fine quality London Georgian mahogany longcase clock. A pagoda hood pediment with fretwork. Brass stopped fluted hood columns. Side sound fretwork and quartered capitals. Choice flame mahogany veneers to the trunk door and moulded base panel. A brass and silvered dial with strike/silent, date and seconds indicators. An 8-day duration, 5-pillar mechanism striking the hours on a bell. Brass cased weights and a quality flat rod brass pendulum.

Edward Pistor is recorded in Baillies' 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' book as working in Prescott and Leadenhall St. from 1755-1794.
